WinMerge, Meld, KDiff3 and FreeFileSync are good, free programs. If one of them covers your work, use it. This page says what each does well and where Diffoniq is different, so you can tell whether the $35 is worth it for you.

Diffoniq merges two ways, not three, and has no syntax highlighting. For merging branches in a code project, these tools serve you well.
/sync for the Task Scheduler, dry run by default./read-only keeps a working copy safe.A free tool if you mainly merge source code, need three-way merge, or work on macOS or Linux. FreeFileSync if what you want is a reliable backup or mirror.
